HAPPY 45th BIRTHDAY to my son Bill III aka Billyboy aka The Bill who lives in Orlando, FL, where he is a High School math teacher, avid golfer, coach of the boy’s golf team, Crimson Tide fan and a GREAT son, pal and buddy.
Love ya Billyboy!!
Hope we can arrange a way and time for you to, finally, come back up to The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, this summer. Its only been 16 years since your last visit. We would have a ball, that is for certain and you would get the bedroom in PHC - how ‘bout dat?
Now ... let’s move on with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s Off Broadway show ...
ROW AFTER ROW, when two hard core Civil War re-enactors show up for their annual Gettysburg beer and find a pretty female stranger at their table, old allegiances come into question==>A
Yes, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, it was indeed a “dark comedy” but thankfully the “dark” did not overshadow the “comedy,” as is so often the case.
The acting was excellent. The story line transitions between current time and 1863 in Gettysburg and focuses in the end on the role(s) of women back then and into today’s world. Frankly, the story line has grown on me since I have had time to process it.
Billi Pod says==>definitely worth seeing.
It is playing at Stage 2 at the New York City Center on West 55th Street, has a running time of 1:30, without intermission, and runs through February 16th.
Tonight’s entertainment event is a Broadway show ...
8:00==>A GENTLEMAN’S GUIDE TO LOVE & MURDER - “This musical tells the uproarious story of Monty Navarro, a distant heir to a family fortune who sets out to speed up the line of succession using a great deal of charm… and a dash of murder. Tony winner Jefferson Mays plays all eight doomed heirs who meet their ends in the most creative and sidesplitting ways.” (Broadway - Actor’s Fund Benefit Ticket)
This well-reviewed show is playing at the Walter Kerr Theatre on West 48th Street, has a running time of 2:20, with intermission, and is currently selling tickets through June 15th.
This is a production to benefit The Actor’s Fund and normally seats for these events are pretty good, usually in the orchestra. We will see.
In closing I want to thank those of my loyal and faithful readers and followers, and my Worker Bee "friends," who took the time from their otherwise mundane and boring lives to send me those flaming messages, emails and texts calling attention to the fact that your favorite blogger made a grievous error in the title of yesterday’s otherwise awesome post.
Yes ... everyone ... I know it is Springsteen ... NOT Stringsteen ...
I caught the mistake right after I posted and immediately made the correction ... so ... you can take those nasty, vulgar and demeaning pieces of sh**t and shove them up your collective ... oooooops ... sorry ... MY BAD ... perhaps I am overreacting ... I mean ... WTF do I mean? Anyway ... shove them ... stop it ... control yourself Billi Pod ... so ... WTF ... anyway ...
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!
Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.18 miles (or, 6,956 steps)
Total mileage for 2014==>39.22 miles (average 2.45 miles per day)
GO GATORS!!
