Friday==>As I outlined in Thursday's posting ... at 6:40pm last night I was with David Falletta, my son Bill III aka The Bill, Ashley Goebel, her father Dr. Jay Goebel, and Ashley’s fiancé Travis, on the shore of Cub Lake in Apopka, the site where my youngest grandson Chris Falletta accidentally drowned one year ago.
We took some time to talk about what Chris had meant to each of us and how much we missed him.
Then, in his memory, we each spread rose petals and a fish hook into the water.
Then Bill hit a petal-covered golf ball high in the air and all the way to the area in the lake where Chris was last seen alive.
It was, of course, very emotional but it was also another important and necessary step forward in the family and individual healing process.
At about the same time Chris’ mother Kathryn Bendeck, step-father Dr. John, and older brother Alex Falletta did their individual things, that were described yesterday, in memory of Chris.
We then had an excellent dinner at a local Outback Steakhouse, courtesy of Dr. Jay.
I have to admit that when I got back to the apartment and Bill left for his house and David left to return to Lakeland ... I felt emotionally drained but very pleased that we had all been together.
Before moving on ... I do want to take a moment to thank everyone who took the time to respond to yesterday’s posting. Your texts, postings, and emails meant soooooooo very much to me and to my family. Thank You!!
Now ... moving on ...
Tonight’s entertainment event is something a bit different ...
8:00pm==>SEX, DRUGS, ROCK & ROLL - “Eric Bogosian’s award-winning play is a series of darkly comic monologues by different unnamed characters. Each one is in some way related to one of the three vices of the title - but that's not really the point. The show is an indictment of America in its way, shining a light on hypocrisy, insincerity, greed.”
This is an encore performance from the Orlando International Fringe Festival and stars award-winning actor David Lee, who is a friend. David received rave reviews for his performance in his one-man show.
It is playing at the Footlight Theater at the Parliament House on North Orange Blossom Trail, has a running time of 1:15, without intermission, and the performance dates are: tonight and Saturday @ 8pm.
My current plans are to take a bus to and from the show.
Moving on now to the sports scene ... for you Marty ...
Well, as anticipated the race in the AL East has really gotten tight with only 1.0 game separating the top 4 teams. Even the hated last-place Boston FuckSox are only 6-games out of first place. Man, the second half of the season is really going to be interesting.
Tonight at 7:05pm from Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed and Ego Built, the Yankees begin a 3-game series with the Tampa Bay Rays.
On the mound for the Yankees (42-37) will be the iffy Masahiro Tanaka (4-3) vs. Chris Archer (9-5) for the Rays (42-39)
I will close today’s posting with an AWESOME walking stat. During the month of June, with everything that was going on and the oppressively hot weather, your favorite Sunshine State blogger walked a total of ... gasp==>150.02 miles, for an daily average of 5.00 miles per day.
Not bad Billi Pod, not bad at all ...
HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE.
GO YANKEES!!
Total mileage for June==>150.02 miles (average 5.00 miles per day)
Total mileage for 2015==>749.75 miles (average 4.10 miles per day)
