Last night Mark Teixeira homered twice and Stephen Drew hit a late inning solo HR to help the Yankees withstand a 9th-inning rally and hang on for a 5-4 win over the Athletics at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed and Ego Built.
CC Sabathia pitched well enough into the 6th inning to get the win and Andrew Miller, in his first appearance after being on the DL, got the save although he had a rocky time, giving up a 2-run homer.
It was an exciting and nail-biting game to watch, that’s for certain.
The final game of the 3-game series will be this afternoon at 1:05pm.
On the mound for the Yankees (45-39) will be Masahiro Tanaka (4-3) vs. Jesse Chavez (4-8) for the Athletics (39-48).
Of course, I will watch the game from the cool and comfortable confines of my new apartment.
The Yankees now lead the AL East by 2.5 games. I hate to say it, but ... gasp ... the last-place Boston FuckSox are on a hot streak and are only 5 games out of first place. They have a 3-game series against the Yankees at that fetid cesspool known as Fenway Park, beginning tomorrow.
Moving on ...
I am happy to report to you loyal and faithful readers and followers that after the game was over I had a visitor at my new apartment.
Yep ... Scott Warner dropped by around 10:30pm and stayed until about midnight and we did some very much needed/wanted catching up.
Scott is the stepson of my former wife, Donna. He and Bill III grew up together. Scott lived with his father Gordon and Donna in Orlando and Bill III lived with me in Bartow. They often spent weekends and summertime together.
Scott now lives in the Orlando area and is a banker.
So ... Scott ... it was great seeing you and I am confident you, Bill and me will get together in the very near future.
Had a very nice morning walk and wander session, clocking in 3.15 miles.
After the Yankee game is over I will want to get out of the apartment so ... it looks like I will finally get around to seeing TED 2 at the multiplex across the street in Winter Park Village.
GO YANKEES!!
Total mileage for 2015==>774.90 miles (average 4.10 miles per day)
