Aida, with Dottie Harris - Plans for Today - Something Kinda Thought Provoking

Thursday==>We will get today’s posting started with your favorite blogger’s report card on last night’s outstanding entertainment event, that I saw with Dottie Harris ...

ELTON JOHN & TIM RICE’S AIDA in Concert, at the Nile’s edge, the enslaved Nubian princess, Aida becomes romantically entangled with the Egyptian captain, Radames, who is betrothed to the Pharaoh’s daughter, Amneris. Aida and Radames's forbidden love for one another ultimately leads to tragic results when they are forced to make decisions between love and country==>A.

Dottie and I were both blown away by what we saw on stage.

Yes, folks, this show was a totally AMAZING surprise in that it was a full production rather than a concert, as advertised. There were sets, props, special effects, staging, dancing and a talented cast that was supported by a full orchestra and chorus, on stage.

The three leads: Jerusha Cavazos as Aida; Natale Pirrotta as Radames; and, Hannah Berry Matthews as Amneris, are each outstanding and the production is both entertaining and emotionally involving.

At curtain call we gave the performers a roaring standing ovation, which they more than earned.

Billi Pod says==>if you are in the Orlando area you gotta see this show.

It is playing at the Walt Disney Theater @ Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Orlando and the final performance is tonight @ 7:30pm.

I have to give Dottie credit for assuming the responsibility for driving us to and from the concert.

So ... Dottie==>it was great being with you and thanks for being our designated driver.

Moving on ...

Thankfully, this morning I was able to get back into my early morning walk and wander regimen and that really felt good.

At 1:00pm it is beginning to cloud up and rain (what’s new??) is forecast for the late afternoon. The temperature is 89º but the "feels like" index is 98º.

Man, am I missing my daily/nightly baseball fix. Thank God on Friday it will be back.

Tonight I will, hopefully, catch a movie at the multiplex across the street in Winter Park Village.

We will close this posting out with something that really applies to Billi Pod ...
