Repercussions From The Booger Bowl

Well, my loyal and faithful readers and followers out there in the morass known as cyberspace, in the name of fair and unbiased reporting your favorite blogger has to disclose that he spent the better part of yesterday mired in the remnants of the funk caused by the still unthinkable results of Wednesday’s Booger Bowl down in New Orleans.

Now, before you start composing your flames and texts ... understand that I don’t expect the Gators to win every game but I do expect them to play up to their potential as the number 3-ranked team in the country. They didn’t do that in any aspect of this woeful game.

What they did in the Booger Bowl was embarrass themselves and every member of The Gator Nation. And ... speaking of The Gator Nation ... where  the f**k were you during the game? How come Louisville had more fans in the stadium? How come?

Anyway ... Billi Pod spent a good part of the day walking and muttering to himself ... it wasn’t nice. It did, however, result in some decent mileage by the time the day was finally and thankfully over.

I am happy to report that the day was saved by the NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC concert, especially pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet performing Grieg’s Piano Concerto. It was beautiful.

Then it got even better when the orchestra performed Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7. The guest conductor, Manifred Honeck, lead the orchestra to a sublime performance of this classic. When it was over the audience gave him and the orchestra a roaring standing ovation, a rarity at NY Phil concerts.

A terrific concert with a free ticket at Avery Fisher Hall, in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The Word ... WOW!!

I left Lincoln Center with a smile on my face, in a much better mood and basically over my time on the pity-pot.

So my loyal and faithful readers and followers ... why don’t we move on ...

My original plans for tonight were to stay in to watch the Texas A&M/Oklahoma game, featuring freshman QB Johnny Manziel, the Heisman Trophy winner,  but ... I have almost OD’d on college football ... so instead I booked something a bit different ...

7:30==>THE MIKADO - “The Gilbert & Sullivan classic operetta set in the Japanese town of Titipu, where everything goes topsy-turvy when a high school maiden, a wandering minstrel, and a lord high executioner find themselves in a preposterous love triangle.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

This is playing at the newly refurbished City Center on West 55th Street and I am pretty sure my comp. seat will be in the nosebleed section of the rear mezzanine. It runs almost 3 hours with one intermission.

Wow ... I suddenly feel the need/desire to get out of the apartment and do some walking somewhere, some place ... damn the cold weather ... so ...

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>6.02 miles (or, 13,186 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/12==>985.11 miles

Mileage remaining until 4/23/13==>93.89 miles
