Wednesday==>it is bitterly cold here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World -- 10º at 8:30am, with wind chill it feels like 0º. At 11:30am it is only 12º. The wind blowing East from the Hudson River cuts like a knife. A good reason not to venture outside.
So, my loyal and faithful readers and followers let’s move on with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s entertainment event, his second visit to ...
OLD JEWS TELLING JOKES, about ... tada ... Jews telling jokes==>A.
This is the same grade it received when I saw it in early previews back on July 25, 2012. Now, as then, I found the show to be extremely funny but also poignant, as the 5-member cast, in addition to telling jokes, gave the audience a look into the performer’s background and family history. The cast is uniformly excellent.
When the show was over my friends Michael Pederson and Dennis Dohman and I braved the frigid weather and walked over to 44th & 8th Avenue to Angus Bistro (yeah, that's the name now) for dinner.
We had a great time together with good food and good face time.
So ... Michael and Dennis==>it was great being with you guys!!
Folks, I cannot adequately describe how unpleasant it is outside right now. It is so misleading because the sky is blue and the sun is out, leading one to believe that the cold is tolerable. Well ... friends ... trust me ... it ain’t. It still is “frostbite” cold.
Thank goodness my entertainment event for tonight is at the York Theatre in the basement of St. Peter’s Church in the Citicorp Building in Midtown East. This location will require minimum exposure to the elements. The show is a staged reading ...
8:00==>SWEET BYE & BYE - “An educational Mufti-style presentation in association with Marymount Manhattan College, featuring haunting melodies and zany and sharply satiric views of human nature.” (Off Broadway - free ticket).
OK, my loyal and faithful readers and followers out there in the hinterlands, wastelands and boondocks, your favorite blogger is gonna post this and then spend the remainder of the afternoon in the warm and cozy confines of Penthouse C aka PHC reading a just released book, THE CRESTFALLEN ROSE, written by my friend Michael Martin of Lakeland, FL. Stay tuned for Billi Pod’s review later in the week.
Oh, needless-to-say, the frigid weather has curtailed my walking and wandering ... so ...
Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>2.02 miles (or, 4,424 steps)
Total mileage since 7/1/12==>1,063.04 miles
Mileage remaining until 4/23/13==>15.96 miles
GO GATORS AND GO YANKEES!!
