THE EXPLORERS CLUB==>A.

Monday==>yesterday was a fitting end to a very enjoyable weekend for your favorite blogger here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World.

I mean, seriously, when you have a weekend with The Horne Posse; Ashley Zandy and John Scott Reed aka Fabson; a Yankee win; a great classical music concert; and, then a gut-busting funny Off Broadway comedy ... what could be better ...

So, my loyal and faithful readers and followers out there in the boondocks, wastelands and hinterlands ...  let’s get started with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s entertainment event ... his third attempt to see ...

THE EXPLORERS CLUB, in 1879 London a prestigious men’s club is shaken by the possibility of a female member==>A

It is gut-busting funny and extremely well acted.

The proposed female member is Phyllida Spotte-Hume, a celebrated anthropologist, who has discovered a legendary Lost City (“the worst place on earth”) and brought back a cute, extremely fit native specimen she has named Luigi (Luigi because all of her pets are named Luigi).

The plot is too convoluted to attempt to explain except that all hell breaks loose when Luigi slaps The Queen in the face.

There is a recurring incredible physical scene between Luigi, hiding as a bartender, and the club members. Totally WOW!!

The house last night was totally full and everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun, just like Billi Pod.

Oh, yesterday I said that last night’s performance was the last ... well ... I was totally wrong ... the show runs through July 21st.

It is playing at The Manhattan Theatre Club on West 55th Street and has a running time of 1:45, with an intermission.

Billi Pod says==>if you want a good laugh then see this show ASAP!!

Tonight’s entertainment event is an Off Broadway show up at Lincoln Center ...

7:00==>A KID LIKE JAKE - “Two parents fret over getting their 4-year-old preschooler into private school and whether his fascination with princesses means that he may be gay.” (Off Broadway - full price $20.00 ticket)

This show is playing at the Claire Tow Theatre at Lincoln Center and runs through July 14th and has a running time of 1:40, without intermission

It just received a favorable review from The New York Times.

Moving on to a bit of sports for my theater-buddy Marty ...

Well, once again The Wankies bats were virtually nonexistent as they wasted a decent outing from Ivan Nova and lost 3-1 to The Rays to split the 4-game series.

The Wankies have the day-off today and then on Tuesday begin a 3-game series against The Texas Rangers out at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built. I have a ticket for the Tuesday game as part of my season ticket package.

BREAKING NEWS==>at noon on Wednesday I will meet up with Marty Kosarik and, weather permitting, we will walk across the George Washington Bridge to that foreign country known as New Jersey. We will, of course, walk back to Manhattan.

Assuming we clear passport control we will then catch a bite somewhere in the GWB ‘hood.

This is the beginning of Billi Pod’s next challenge and that is to walk all of the bridges in Manhattan that permit pedestrian traffic. There are 21 major bridges in Manhattan but not all of them permit pedestrian traffic. Details will follow.

Oh ... will soon reach my goal of walking 1,700 miles in a year, probably either Tuesday or Wednesday. Hummmmmmm ... maybe while walking the GWB ... we’ll see.

Will close by sharing a photograph taken this weekend of my great-granddaughter Saylor and her dad, Alex Falletta aka Army Guy, at a family getaway on the beach in South Carolina.

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>4.44 miles (or, 9,718 steps)

Mileage for week==>31.06 miles (average 4.44 miles per day)

Total mileage since 7/1/12==>1,689.89 miles (average 4.72 miles per day)

Miles remaining to reach 1,700 by 7/1/13==>10.11 miles (average 1.44 miles per day)

GO YANKEES!!
