Tuesday==>OK my loyal and faithful readers and followers out there in the morass known as cyberspace, since I just posted individually about my dear friend Rosemary Barkett, let’s now get updated on Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s Off Broadway show ...
WHERE WE’RE BORN, about Lily, who comes home from her first semester at a prestigious East Coast college to confront her working class roots and her rural Massachusetts town==>C-
The problem for me is that it has a hardly believable story line with totally unlikeable characters burdened by yelling, screaming and excessive physical violence. It just didn’t work for your favorite blogger.
Billi Pod says==>you are warned.
Moving on ...
As I am working on this posting I presently having nothing scheduled entertainment-wise for this evening.
The Yankees, who had the day off yesterday, play a day/night doubleheader against Toronto out at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built.
In the 1:05pm game it will be Ivan Nova (6-4) on the mound for The Yankees vs. Esmil Rogers (3-7) for The Blue Jays. For the 7:05pm game it will be the downward spiraling Phil Hughes (4-12) on the mound for The Bronx Bombers vs. Mark Buehrle (9-7) for The Jays.
Also on the tube will be Little League World Series games @ 1:00pm, 4:00pm and 8:00pm ... so ... your favorite blogger may become a baseball couch potato ... or ... he may catch a movie ... probably the raunchy comedy WE’RE THE MILLERS.
In closing I need to acknowledge the passing of the prolific novelist and screenwriter, Elmore Leonard, who died today in Detroit, Michigan, at the age of 87.
“Dutch,” as he was known to his friends, developed a friendship with my friends Marvin and Polly Mounts of West Palm Beach, FL, while Dutch was researching what became “Maximum Bob.” The book was not based on Marvin. I met Dutch a couple of times down in West Palm and then later several times during book-signings here in NYC. He was a charming and interesting guy and will be missed in the literary-world.
Billi Pod says==>R.I.P. Dutch.
Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.65 miles (or, 7,978 steps)
Total mileage since 7/1/13==>183.04 miles (average 3.66 miles per day)
GO YANKEES!!
