HOLLYWOOD! HOLLYWOOD!==>A

Sunday==>OK, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, your favorite blogger has grown tired of starting off this otherwise AWESOME blog every day with bland, totally useless and boring reports on the current weather status here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World.

I mean ... really ... if you live in Des Moines, Iowa, or Fargo, North Dakota, or Sebring, Florida, who gives a flippin-f**k what the temperature is in NYC at 8:30am ... I mean ... really ... who cares???

Oh, I do understand that sometimes the current or projected weather will have an impact on the things and stuff Billi Pod will do for the day/evening and he plans to dutifully report on that ... so ... never fear ... you will still be advised regarding the important issues.

The only positive thing was that it permitted me to begin each posting with some interesting artwork and that is part of the formatting issues involved in constructing the current blog that you loyal and faithful readers and followers have come to expect every day.

Not sure what tomorrow’s posting is gonna look like ... so ... why don’t we just get today started with ...

Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s Off Broadway show ...

HOLLYWOOD! HOLLYWOOD!, a happy, fun-filled musical journey that follows the quests of a diverse crew of wannabes as they pursue their dreams of becoming paid Hollywood actors==>A

Man, what a pleasant surprise. As I posted yesterday, I had some serious misgivings about this show, largely due to the performance venue. Well, I couldn’t have been more wrong. I was hooked at the opening number, “Truckin’ in Hollywood.”

Yes, the show is extremely well performed by a talented cast of 14 singers and dancers, who also are involved in the multiple extremely fast set changes.

Most of the performers are given opportunities to tell us, through song and dance, about their “quest” for stardom in the ruthless and cutthroat atmosphere of Tinseltown.

You know, whenever I see a talented cast of basically young performers, like this one, giving their all, I am reminded of the high level of professionalism here in The Big Apple and how fortunate we theatergoers are to have access to this process in venues large and small all over the city.

The show is playing at the Richmond Shepard Theatre on E. 26th Street, has a running time of about 1:30, without intermission, and runs on Saturdays and Sundays through August 25th.

Billi Pod says==>see this show if you can.

When the show was over the weather was great so I walked back to 420 W. 42nd Street, a distance of a little over 3 miles.

Moving on ...

Today’s entertainment event is an Off Broadway show ...
7:15==>SUMMER SHORTS, Series B - “Three one-act plays:

Falling Short - “Frustrated with her writing career and her ongoing search for love on the internet, Lee finds herself revealing more than she planned on a date with a quirky actor.”

Change - “Three old college friends get reacquainted.”

Pine Cone Moment - “Two elderly people who want to be together must first deal with the voices of their departed spouses before they can move forward with their relationship.”
(Off Broadway - $9.00 TDF ticket)

This show is playing at the 59E59 Theatre Complex, one of my favorite venues, and has a running time of 2:00, with an intermission.

Now, it is time to satisfy my theater buddy Marty Kosarik’s virtually unquenchable desire/need/obsession for anything sports related ...
As you loyal and faithful readers and followers know, The Wankies continue  their downward spiral to playoff oblivion as they lost yesterday afternoon to The Tigers by an embarrassing score of 9-3 out at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built.

A-Rod wasn’t in the lineup and Phil Hughes had another minor-league worthy outing, failing to get out of the 5th inning for his third consecutive start. He is shortly gonna be toast, and rightly so.

This afternoon at 1:05pm is the final game of the 3 game series with the fading Andy Pettitte (7-9) on the mound for The Wankies vs. Justin Verlander (12-8) for The Tigers. It doesn’t look good.

Yes, my loyal readers and followers, The Wankies have 47 games remaining, and trust your favorite blogger on this, the rest of the season is going to be an embarrassing nightmare.

So ... on this happy note ... will post this and then get settled in to watch the game. Yes ... I know ... but I can’t help myself ... I am a Yankee fan ...

HAVE A GREAT REST OF THE WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>5.09 miles (or, 11,127 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/13==>146.26 miles (average 3.57 miles per day)

GO YANKEES!!
