Tuesday==>Today’s blog posting needs to get underway because your favorite blogger has an early afternoon show ... so ... let’s get started with ...
Billi Pod’s report cards on yesterday’s entertainment doubleheader ... starting with ...
The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) production of ...
ZOMBIE STRIPPERS - They Only Want You for Your Brains, part fast-paced farce, part sweet friendship story, all sexy and hilarious, this musical takes place in one wild night in a graveyard where one has come to mourn, one has come to murder, and many have come back from the dead==>Very Enjoyable!
This show is entertaining, thought-provoking, well-performed, in-your-face funny and often gross, just the kind of material/humor that Billi Pod loves.
The young cast is stellar, headed by Ellie Bensinger as Tiffany, a self-loathing stripper and Sariah (yeah, she is one-named) as Jinx, a sex-crazed Banshee. They battle their desires/needs and a band of former-strippers who are now hungry zombies.
The book, music and lyrics by Mark LaPierre are excellent as is the choreography.
The 85-minute running time flies by as does the gore, blood and body-parts.
This show is playing at The Signature Theatre Complex on West 42nd Street, has a running time of 1:25, without intermission, and the remaining performance dates are: Friday, July 25th, @ 9:00pm and Saturday, July 26th @ at 1:00pm.
When the show was over I came back to PHC, changed clothes, had a small fruit and cheese plate and then it was time to head out to Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed and Ego Built, for the second part of my entertainment doubleheader.
Well, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, as much as the NYMF show was a major plus, the YANKEE/TEXAS game turned out to be a major downer and that is putting it mildly
The Yankees ... ooooops ... in mean The Wankies (50-48) lost 4-2 to the lowly Rangers (40-59), in a game where The Wankies committed 5 errors, 3 of them by our starting pitcher Shane Green. Once again they failed to get hits with runners in scoring position.
It was a very painful game to watch. The Stadium was sold-out. Of course I stayed until the final out. Barf!! What a downer!!
Tonight at 7:05pm will be game 2 of the 4-game series. On the mound for The Wankies will be Chase Whitley (4-3) vs. Nick Martinez (1-6) for The Rangers.
Moving on ...
Your favorite blogger’s entertainment event for today is another New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) show ...
1:00==>CLINTON - It’s History. Sort of - “It’s hard enough being president by yourself. Bill Clinton’s problem is that there are two of him. Literally. CLINTON follows two Bill Clintons and Hillary on their quest to save their presidency, change America and prove that ‘politics is show business for ugly people.’" (NYMF - full price ticket)
This show is playing at The Signature Theatre Complex on West 42nd Street, has a running time of 2:00, with intermission, and the remaining performance dates are: Tuesday, July 22nd @ 9:00pm; Thursday, July 24th @ 5:00pm; Friday, July 25th @ 1:00pm; and, Saturday, July 26th @ 5:00pm.
Then ...
In the evening==>John Scott Reed aka Fabson will come over to PHC and we will do some major catching-up and then we will have a late dinner at a restaurant in my Hell’s Kitchen ‘hood. Really looking forward to this.
OK ... time to post this and then get ready for my early afternoon show ... so ...
