Wednesday==>It is a very pleasant summer day here in the Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World.
At 11:30am it is 84º with azure blue skies, puffy clouds and a nice breeze coming off the Hudson River. Unfortunately, rain is forecast for the mid-evening hours.
We will get today’s posting started with Billi Pod’s report card on yesterday afternoon’s entertainment event ...
The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) production of ...
CLINTON - It’s History. Sort of. - Two Bill Clintons and Hillary are on a quest to save their presidency, change America and prove that “politics is show business for ugly people”==>Totally Enjoyable.
This show is funny, well written and extremely well performed by a stellar cast, headed by Duke LaFoon as the fun Bill, Alet Taylor as Hillary and Kevin Zak as the skulking Kenneth Starr.
The story-line touches on all of the P.R. disasters of the Clinton presidency, including Whitewater and Monika Lewinsky.
The songs and lyrics are excellent and oftentimes are in-your-face profane.
The house was full and we were all very much into the show.
Billi Pod says==>this is definitely worth seeing if you can score a ticket.
This show is playing at The Signature Theatre Complex on West 42nd Street, has a running time of 2:00, with intermission, and the remaining performance dates are: Thursday, July 24th @ 5:00pm; Friday, July 25th @ 1:00pm; and, Saturday, July 26th @ 5:00pm.
Then for the evening ...
John Scott Reed, who is celebrating one-year with FacebookNY, came to PHC and we did some much needed/wanted catching-up.
Scott LOVES his job, especially his interaction with his co-workers at work and socially. He is very happy and that is putting it mildly.
We had an awesome dinner at 5 Napkin Burger at the corner of 45th Street and 9th Avenue in my Hell’s Kitchen ‘hood. We sat outside and that was nice.
When dinner was over we split and I came back to PHC to watch the final innings of the YANKEES/TEXAS game.
When I turned on the TV the game was tied at 0-0 going into the 9th inning.
Well, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, the game went into extra innings and it was a nail-biter from that point on. The game took almost 5-hours.
The Yankees finally won in the bottom of the 14th inning on a hit by Chase Headley, who had just been acquired in a trade with The Padres. Actually, Headley didn’t get to Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed and Ego Built, until after the game had started.
What a debut!!
Tonight at 7:05pm is the 3rd game of the 4-game series. On the mound for The Yankees (51-48) will be David Phelps (4-4) vs. Yu Darvish (9-5), the ace of The Rangers (40-60) staff.
As anemic as the Yankee bats have been and the 5-hour game last night ... Darvish could easily pitch a no-no. Jus sayin ...
Anyway ...
At the moment your favorite blogger has nothing scheduled for tonight. Unless something shows up on his ticket services he may just stay in and watch the game ... so ... stay tuned ...
Total mileage for 2014==>783.98 miles (average 3.86 miles per day)
GO YANKEES!!
