Billi Pod’s report on last night’s entertainment (??) event, the YANKEE/HOUSTON game out at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built.

The Wankies (63-60) lost 7-4 to The Astros (53-73) in a barf-inducing game that was tied 4-4 into the top of the 9th inning. Our closer, David Robertson, came in and gave up 3 runs and it was over.

Man, was it painful to be in the stadium at the bitter end. Everyone leaving the stadium had a sad look on their face, and rightfully so.

The following headlines in this morning’s papers pretty much sums it up ...

“BLASTED! Robertson allows mammoth three-run shot as Yanks fall to lowly Astros.” - back page of The Daily News

“‘STRO BLOW. Carter launches 3-run blast off Robertson to wreck Yanks.” - back page of The New York Post

“With Yankees’ Opportunity Knocking, Astos Rudely Slam the Door.” - inside sports section of The New York Times.

Oh well ..

Tonight @ 7:05pm is game 2 of the 3-game series. On the mound for The Wankies will be Michael Pineda (2-2) vs. Scott Feldman (6-9) for Houston.

Billi Pod’s entertainment event for today is another Fringe Festival show ...

2:00==>MOSES, THE AUTHOR - “Meet Moses, who has family problems (gay son, rocky marriage), God problems (existential), and career problems (writer’s block, a hellish deadline). To make a better Bible he must become a better man. A love story, with scrolls.” (Fringe Festival - full price ticket)

This comedy is playing at The Players Theatre in The West Village, has a running time of 1:40, without intermission, and the remaining performance dates are Thursday, August 21 @ 9:00pm and Saturday, August 23 @ 9:15pm.

And, about tonight ...

Yeah ... you guessed it ... Billi Pod plans for the evening are to stay in and watch The Wankie game, unless something of major interest shows up on one of his ticket services.
