Monday==>Your favorite blogger here in the Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, has tons of things and stuff to do on his errands and chores list as well as getting blood-work done for a routine doctor’s appointment next week ... so ... we need to get this posting started with ...
Billi Pod’s report card on yesterday afternoon’s Off Broadway show ...
POOR BEHAVIOR, a comedy of liquor, adultery and philosophy that concerns two couples enjoying a not-too-relaxing weekend in the country==>C
I really wanted to like this show but it just didn’t work for me.
My main problem with this show is that the playwright created 4 basically unlikeable characters, so-called “friends,” who argue back and forth in mostly unrealistic dialogue. She also creates a totally unbelievable story line.
Add to this a lot of screaming, shouting and cussing and the whole things gets old pretty quickly.
The acting is acceptable, the best being Brian Avers as the Irish-born Ian.
Billi Pod says==>you are hereby warned.
This show, playing at The Duke on West 42nd Street, is in early previews, opens on August 13th, has a running time of 2:20, with intermission, and runs through September 7th.
My friend Dian Crystal aka My Lady was also at the show and her reaction was about the same as mine.
When the show was over we walked together up to 57th Street, where we split. My Lady went on uptown for her evening’s show and I completed what I now call my Hell’s Kitchen Walk-Around.
When I got back to the apartment I showered, had my usual fruit and cheese plate and then settled in to watch the YANKEES/BOSTON FUCKSOX game ...
Last night in the fetid cesspool known as Fenway Park The Yankees (57-53) overcame two 3-run deficits to beat the loathsome Boston Fucksox (49-62) 8-7 in what turned out to be a nail-biter of a game.
The go-ahead run came in the top of the 6th inning on Brett Gardner’s 15th HR. The Yankees won this 3-game series 2-1
Tonight @ 7:05pm at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed and Ego Built, The Bronx Bombers will begin a 4-game series against The Detroit Tigers (61-47), who lead the AL Central.
On the mound for The Yankees will be Brandon McCarthy (3-0) vs. Max Scherzer (13-3) for The Tigers. The game will be carried on ESPN so it will last forever.
This series will feature the return of Jaba Chamberlain to The Bronx. It will interesting to see how he is received. I think it will be more cheers than boos.
BTW==>did you know that Billi Pod hates Tigers? Well, now you do.
Moving on ...
At the moment my entertainment plans for the evening are in flux ... so ... stay tuned.

GO YANKEES!!
