BIG FISH Saves An Otherwise Double Barf Day

Sunday==>Yes everyone out there in the morass known as cyberspace, this posting is a bit late and your favorite blogger here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, has no legitimate excuse for the tardiness.

Well ... maybe a small one ... this morning I woke up basically still in a semi-funk over what a double barf day sports-wise Saturday had been. I just wasn’t in the mood to sit down in front of this ‘puter and write ... so ... there ...

Anyhoo ... it is now in the early evening ... so ... let’s get this posting started on the positives of Saturday and that would be Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s Broadway show ...

BIG FISH, about a young man trying to sift through his father’s seemingly extremely unbelievable stories about his life==>A

I loved it, despite a seat that sucked, in the next to last row of the upper rear mezzanine.

The story line is very intriguing with interlocking scenes about events that may or may not have actually happened.

The cast is excellent and the 3 lead performers, Norbert Leo Butz, Kate Baldwin and Bobby Steggert are terrific.

The music and choreography is excellent and the staging is breathtakingly original.

The house was full and gave the cast a roaring standing ovation at curtain call.

IMHO this is gonna be a major hit.

Billi Pod says==>better get your tickets quickly.

It is playing at The Neil Simon Theater on West 52nd Street, has a running time of 2:20, with intermission, and opens on October 5th.

Today’s entertainment event was an Off Broadway show down in Chelsea ...

2:00==>A USER’S GUIDE TO HELL, FEATURING BERNARD MADOFF - “Examines how the most hated man in America might actually be a reflection of our most admired American values.” (Off Broadway - $9.00 TDF ticket)

This show is playing down at Atlantic Stage 2 on West 16th Street, has a running time of 1:30, without intermission, and runs through September 28th.

I saw this show with my theater-buddy Dian Crystal aka My Lady and my report card will be in tomorrow’s posting.

Moving on ... briefly, I promise ... to yesterday’s sporting events ... well ... this is all I am gonna say ...

A BARF AND DOUBLE BARF AFTERNOON

Gators play a miserable game with 5 turnovers and lose to The ‘Canes 21-16. BARF!
Yankees lose 3rd consecutive game to The Boston FuckSox. The final score was 13-9. Jeter left the game due to problems with his previously injured left ankle. Bye-bye post season. DOUBLE BARF!!

This afternoon out at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built, The Wankies will play the final game of the 4-game series and will, hopefully, avoid the sweep.

On the mound for The Wankies will be Hiroki Kuroda (11-10) vs. Jon Lester (13-8) for The FuckSox.

OK, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, you are now up-to-date ... and again ... please excuse the lateness of this posting.

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>2.72 miles (or, 5,955 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/13==>245.39 miles (average 3.56 miles per day)

GO YANKEES!! GO GATORS!!
