Good morning my loyal and faithful readers and followers out there in the morass known as cyberspace.
Today is Wednesday and the upcoming weather forecast for The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, is pretty dismal==>mixture of rain and light snow beginning around noon that will continue through the evening and into tomorrow - BIG WHOOP!!
Oh well ... ain’t nothing Billi Pod can do about it except to dress warmly and watch out for icy sidewalks and walkways.
On a much more positive note ... last night’s concert ... ORATORIO SOCIETY OF NEW YORK @ Carnegie Hall, featuring works by Aaron Copeland, Charles Ives and Paul Moravec, was a totally enjoyable event.
The work by Moravec was the New York State premiere of a Cantata called “The Blizzard Voices.” It was interesting but about 10-minutes too long, IMHO.
My comp. seat was decent, second row, center orchestra. Just before the concert was to begin I was able to score a seat further back from the stage and that was excellent.
Tonight will be even more classical music for Billi Pod ...
7:30==>NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA @ Avery Fisher Hall - The program is:
Bach - Motet No. 1: Singet dem Herrn
Bach - Magnificat
Mendelssohn - Christus
Mendelssohn - Magnificat in D major
(season subscription series)
One nice thing about Lincoln Center - the subway station is right next to The Center, underground of course, with a walkway leading directly to the lobby area. This limits my exposure to the elements to the short walk from PHC to and from The Port Authority Bus Terminal.
I will close this posting on a happy note for you loyal and faithful readers and followers out there in the wastelands, boondocks and hinterlands==>I have almost finished compiling the awesome entertainment stats for the month of February and expect to post them later this afternoon ... so ... stay tuned.
Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>2.12 miles (or, 4,636 steps)
Total mileage since 7/1/12==>1,206.11 miles
GO GATORS AND GO YANKEES!!
