Thursday==>Still very cold here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World. At 9:30am it was very bright and sunny but the temperature was only 24º, with wind chill 11º.
My plan for today is to stay inside the warm and cozy confines of PHC until it is time for my entertainment event for the evening, a concert up at Lincoln Center, details below.
Now ... what about last night’s show? I know you are all anxiously awaiting your favorite blogger's report card ... so ... here it comes ... tada ...
SQUONK: MAYHEM AND MAJESTY, the so-called “spell-binding spectacle” of music, performance, and digital artistry==>D<==as in dreadful.
You know you are in trouble when the house is only 1/3 full and the house manager announces: “There is no story line, just music.” Well, the music is basically shrill atonal dreck that soon becomes a dismal mind-fuck.
Should have left at intermission but I didn’t on hopes that it would get better. Well, it didn’t.
It is playing in Theatre A of the 59E59 Theatre Complex (one of my favorite venues) on East 59th Street, has a running time of 1:30, with intermission, and runs through December 29th.
Billi Pod says==>you are hereby warned.
Tonight’s entertainment event is another classical music concert up at Lincoln Center ...
7:30==>NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA @ Avery Fisher Hall - The program is:
Beethoven - Symphony No. 8; and,
Strauss - Ein Heldenleben, performed by Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow
(season subscription series)
Moving on ...
Scott Reed’s father Stan Reed aka Stan The Man, of Lakeland, FL, is in town for a holiday visit and we plan to get together on Saturday for some much needed face time and catching up.
Also, Lakeland attorney Rusty Franklin will be in the area beginning on Saturday. We will plan to meet up during his time here so I can show him/them the views from PHC on the 41st floor. We will see the Gators/Memphis basketball game @ 9:00pm on Tuesday at Madison Square Garden.
I have other news about Christmas to share with you loyal and faithful readers and followers, which I will do later, probably tomorrow ... so stay tuned.
Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.56 miles (or, 7,794 steps)
Total mileage since 7/1/13==>550.09 miles (average 3.35 miles per day)
GO GATORS!!
