Thursday==>Yes, I am happy to report to my loyal and faithful readers and followers that last night’s concert at Lincoln Center, the NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC @ Avery Fisher Hall, performing Handel’s “Messiah,” was TOTALLY AWESOME!!
The four soloists: Joelle Harvey, Soprano; Tamara Humford, Mezzo-Soprano; Allan Clayton, Tenor; and, Matthew Rose, Bass, were each superb.
For me, the highlight of the evening was the incredible performance by the Westminster Symphonic Choir, especially when you consider that they are all college students. A bit of background ...
“The Westminster Symphonic Choir is comprised of students from Rider University in New Jersey and has performed with major orchestras under virtually every internationally acclaimed conductor of the past 79 years. The choir has sung more than 350 performances with the New York Philharmonic.”
When the concert was concluded the audience gave the performers a roaring, and I mean roaring standing ovation.
The remaining performances are December 19, 20 and 21st and each date is on TDF ... so ... if you are in the Tri-State area ... see this event.
Yep, it put me definitely in a festive mood so ...

I have seen this series in prior years and mostly enjoyed it. It is playing at the Workshop Theatre Company on West 36th Street and has only 2 remaining performances, Friday & Saturday @ 8:00pm.
Moving on some more ...
In closing ... I am sad to report to my loyal and faithful readers and followers here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, especially Marty Kosarik aka Whatever, that The Stiles Family Market located around the corner on my block has just posted a closing notice for December 31st.
This Hell’s Kitchen staple opened in 1982 and has resisted all efforts to buy them out for the construction of the boutique motel/hotel to be located on the corner of my block. They were the final holdout and had told their customers that they were staying. Well ... apparently they caved. Damn ... sure gonna miss them since they were my primary source for fruit and vegetables, at very reasonable prices.
Also closing is the .99¢ pizza place next door.
Oh, well ...
Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.50 miles (or, 7,656 steps)
Total mileage since 7/1/13==>569.86 miles (average 3.33 miles per day)
GO GATORS!!
