I AM SO LUCKY!!

Thursday==>Yes ... I AM SO LUCKY!!

When your favorite blogger got back to PHC last night after his concert at Carnegie Hall, details below, he started working on a draft for today’s posting and ... he became almost overwhelmed by what had taken place for him over the past 7 days here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World.

Here’s what I am talking about==>As most of you know, I am in Gotham City to take advantage of the awesome array of entertainment events that are available here on a daily basis. To assist this, I am a member of several ticket services that make available many events, free, charging only a small service fee per ticket.

Now, my loyal and faithful readers and followers ... this is what I attended during the past days, including the service charges ...

Thursday - The Film Society - Off Broadway==>$4.00

Friday - The 5 Browns Concert @ Carnegie Hall==>$4.00

Saturday - New York Philharmonic @ Avery Fisher Hall==>free (subscriber perk)

Sunday - London Symphony Orchestra @ Avery Fisher Hall==>$4.00

Monday - When We Met - Off Broadway reading==>free

Tuesday - The Winslow Boy - Broadway==>$4.00

Wednesday - Orchestra of St. Luke’s @ Carnegie Hall==>$4.00

In summary:

1 Broadway show
1 Off Broadway show
1 Reading
4 Classical music concerts

Total out-of-pocket expense==>$20.00

Yep, that’s right ... all of these events for a total out-of-pocket cost of only $20.00.

I think this is pretty amazing, I really do.

Folks, this is why I am a reverse snowbird living in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, and why I will be here for as long as I am physically able to get around.

Oh, to add to the positive feelings about the past 7 days==>I also walked 21.88 miles (47,884 steps), averaging 3.11 miles per day.

I AM SO LUCKY!!

Now, about last night’s entertainment event ...

ORCHESTRA OF ST. LUKE’S @ Carnegie Hall - The program was:
Mendelssohn - Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream; Britten - Serenade for Tenor, Horn and Strings; and, Shostakovich - Symphony No. 9==>EXCELLENT, especially Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 9, which was beautiful.

And, my comp. seat was in the orchestra, only 12 rows from the stage. Awesome!!

Tonight entertainment event is ...

8:00==>A MIND BENDING EVENING OF BECKETT - “Explores the landscape of the human condition in absurdist, minimal style in 3 short plays:
Act Without Words - everyman is stranded on a desert island;
Breath - a statement on human life itself; and,
Play - three people are trapped and isolated due to an unexceptional affair.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

This well reviewed show is playing at the Studio at The Irish Repertory Theater on West 22nd Street, has a running time of 75 minutes, with one brief intermission, and runs through December 1.

On the sports scene ... I am advised that The Boston FuckSox won game 1 of the World Series, the game reportedly played in that fetid cesspool known as Fenway Park.

In closing ... let me repeat ...

I AM SO LUCKY!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>3.75 miles (or, 8,204 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/13==>395.93 miles (average 3.44 miles per day)

GO GATORS!!
