JESUS IN INDIA==>C+

The new week in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, is off to a frigid start. It was only 18º @ 8:30am, sunny but also very windy. Not sure what the wind chill is. Oh well ... at least it isn’t snowing.

So ... let’s get this Monday posting started with Billi Pod’s report card on yesterday’s entertainment event ...

JESUS IN INDIA, about a teenaged Jesus who runs away to India where he joins a stoner-rock band==>C+<==giving it the benefit of the doubt.

I really wanted to like this show more because it sounded like just the kind of off-kilter humor that Billi Pod likes/loves ... but the profanity-laden story line just didn’t work for me. I’m sorry, but hearing Jesus continuously spew forth every gross profane word known to man gets old pretty quickly.

He knocks-up an Indian slave girl and then abandons her and his new son to return to Jerusalem and his “destiny.” Oh, yes ... that sends a nice message, doesn't it?

The house was full and the cast got a nice round of applause at curtain-call but then it got eerily quiet as we were leaving the theater - no one was talking - it really felt strange. I believe people were having difficulty processing what they/we had just seen.

The show runs through March 10th at The Theatre at St. Clement’s Church.

Billi Pod says==>you are alerted.

Moving on ...

As most of you loyal and faithful readers and followers know, today is Monday. On this Monday Billi Pod has something a little unusual ... a doubleheader. Yes, that is correct, a theater doubleheader on a Monday ... beginning with ...

3:00==>MY MOM IS TRYING TO RUIN MY LIFE - “A hilarious family musical about a young girl who finds her well-meaning mother terribly embarrassing - why must she talk so loudly and kiss her in front of her friends? - and decides to take action before her Mom ruins her life. (Off Broadway - $9 TDF ticket)

This show is based on the best-selling book written by Kate Feiffer.

It is playing at The Abingdon Theatre Complex on West 36th Street, as is my second show.

Between shows I will come back to PHC for the usual fruit and cheese plate. Then it will be ...

8:00==>NIGHT GAMES - “A young army officer agrees to help a friend in need. Short of cash, he finds his salvation at the card table, where he goes on a life-changing hot streak before his luck (and his life) take a dramatic turn.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

Yeah ... it should be an interesting day/night.

Surprisingly, I still haven’t scheduled anything for tomorrow night. In the morning I have a routine appointment with my eye doctor and then I will go to my heart doc’s office to have blood drawn in preparation for my annual physical on February 27th. That upcoming physical is also “routine.”

I hope everyone out there in the hinterlands, wastelands and boondocks has a great week.

Dammit ... the cold weather has finally had a negative impact on my walking stats. For the first time my daily average to-date has fallen below my mental target of 5.0 miles per day. Dammit.

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>1.72 miles (or, 3,765 steps)

Mileage for the week==>23.66 miles (average 3.38 miles per day)

Total mileage since 7/1/12==>1,150.21 miles (average 4.96 miles per day)

GO GATORS AND GO YANKEES!!
