Thursday==>Another bright, sunny, windy and cold morning here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City in The World - 25º @ 8:30am.
Let’s get today’s posting started with my report card on last night’s entertainment event, a Broadway show, the revival of ...
ANNIE, about the little orphan, her dog Sandy, Daddy Warbucks and Miss Hannigan==>B+
The show is very well performed and staged. The sets are great.
Lilla Crawford as Annie is amazing. Her rendition of “Tomorrow” was beautiful. The other orphans are also excellent.
Katie Finneran as Miss Hannigan and Anthony Warlow as Daddy Warbucks give stellar performances.
My only quibble with the show is that all of the performers seemed to be just a bit over-amplified.
No matter because over-all I found the show to still be smile-inducing.
My discounted Actor’s Fund Benefit ticket was super-excellent, row M in the middle orchestra. Perfecto.
As might be expected there were a lot of young kids in the audience and the house appeared to be about 90% full.
Yeah ... Billi Pod left the theater with a smile on his face and says==>see this show.
Tonight’s entertainment event is ...
7:30==>NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA @ Avery Fisher Hall - The program is:
Rouse (who?) - Phantasmata;
Bloch (who?) - Schelomo: and,
Brahms (thank God!) - Symphony No. 1
(discounted TDF ticket)
