Billi Pod Takes The Day Off (sorta) - The Gators - The Yankees

Wednesday==>Well, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, in yesterday’s posting I mentioned that Billi Pod was basically going to give himself the day and perhaps the evening off ... and ... well ... it happened.

Yes, that’s right. Your favorite Sunshine State blogger cut back on his walking and wandering session in the morning and stayed in the cool and comfortable confines of his new apartment for the remainder of the day/evening watching baseball on his 42” flat screen TV (details below).

Yeah ... I ventured out only to walk to the super pizza place, Pizzeria Valdiano, in Winter Park Village, to order their special, Pizza Valdiano, (mozzarella, pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, meatballs, onions & mushrooms with pizza sauce) with Sicilian crust --

And, folks, it was just as AWESOME as it looks. It was so good that I later posted a thank-you on their Facebook Timeline. They have been voted the best pizza place for 8 consecutive years.

You now know what Billi Pod is gonna have for dinner for the next several nights ... Oh Yes!!

Settled in to watch some baseball ...

The most exciting game was The College World Series game of Vanderbilt vs. TCU, won 1-0 by Vandy.

The bottom of the barrel was the Yankees/Miami game, from Miami, won by the Marlins 12-2, as they scored a franchise-record 8 runs in the first inning. Not nice to watch, that is for certain.

The good thing about the baseball package that I have is that there are a lot of other games available, also in Hi-Def, and that’s what I did for the rest of the evening.

When the evening was over and it was time to crash my body thanked the inner me for the time-off.

Moving on to today ...

Well, this morning I headed out at the usual 8:00am for my morning walk and wander session in my ‘hood, recording 3.26 miles.

It is really hot out now. At 2:45pm it is 94º, “feels like” 99º. Now, folks, that’s hot.

So ... my plans for this evening will be to do a brief walk-around as the sun is going down and then ... tada ... watch some more baseball ...

First, the beginning of the Yankees/Marlins game at 7:05pm, this time from Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built. This is the first game of a 2-game series in The Bronx.

On the mound for the Yankees (34-30) will be Michael Pineda (7-3) vs. Jose Urena (1-2) for the Marlins (29-37).

Then ...

8:00pm==>Gators vs. ‘Canes from Omaha, Neb. This is an elimination game with the loser going home. As you will recall, earlier in the series the Gators crushed the ‘Canes 15-3.

In closing==>The Donald has caused the media circus that I anticipated. Man, is this going to be fun.

GO GATORS!! GO YANKEES!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>2.43  miles (or, 5,325 steps)

Total mileage for 2015==>682.21 miles (average 4.09 miles per day)
