The Countdown Has Begun - Dian, Marty & Robert - Derek Jeter

Monday==>Well, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, the countdown to the arrival of Sandy Mullon aka Island Girl, is now underway.

Tomorrow, if all goes well on her flight up and traffic from LaGuardia is OK, I expect her to arrive at PHC noonish, and then, the adventure begins. Once she arrives we will finalize our plans for the rest of the day.

We are scheduled for a Welcome To NYC early dinner with Dian Crystal aka My Lady, Marty Kosarik aka Whatever and his boyfriend, Robert, at our favorite Ethiopian restaurant, Meske, on West 47th Street in my Hell’s Kitchen ‘hood.

Then, Dian, Sandy and I will see the 7:30pm show PIECE OF MY HEART: The Bert Berns Show, playing at the Signature Theatre Complex, also in my Hell’s Kitchen ‘hood.

For the remainder of her time in The Big Apple we have a lot of things already scheduled and this is what it looks like, in summary form ...

Wednesday - noon==>tour of FacebookNY and lunch with John Scott Reed; 8:00==>CABARET - Broadway musical

Thursday - museums and art galleries during the day; 8:00==>THE CURIOUS INCIDENT OF THE DOG IN THE NIGHT-TIME - Broadway play in previews

Friday - noon==>lunch with my friends Lenny and Marie at Cafe du Soleil in the Upper Westside; 8:00==>IT’S ONLY A PLAY - Broadway play starring Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick.

Sandy’s way-too-short Big Apple Adventure ends early Saturday morning when she heads back to Florida. Billi Pod will then, of course, begin the laborious process of addressing the “cootie issue.”

I am giving you all of this info in advance because I doubt I will have time to post on this blog while Sandy is here. Yes ... you are very welcome.

Now, today ...

Have a 3:15pm appointment with my eye doctor Dina Weintraub at her office in the far Eastside.

Then will have an early dinner with ... tada ... Dian Crystal aka My Lady, Marty Kosarik aka Whatever and his boyfriend, Robert at a restaurant, Pietrasanta, again located in my Hell’s Kitchen ‘hood.

And, yes ... that’s right ... I am having dinner with “the gang” for two nights in a row.

Now ... moving on some more ...

Yesterday afternoon out at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built, there was a very emotional Derek Jeter Day as his long career in Pin Stripes was celebrated.

Unfortunately, then came the game against The Royals and ... tada ... once again our bats were silenced and we lost 2-0. Both of the runs were unearned. Barf!!

Thank goodness The Wankies have the day off.

OK ... time to post this and then get ready for the afternoon.

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>4.52 miles (or, 9,876 steps)

Total mileage for the week==>31.48 miles (average 4.50 miles per day)

Total mileage for 2014==>1,012.71 miles (average 4.05  miles per day)

GO GATORS!! GO YANKEES!!
