THE AWAKENING OF ANGEL DELUNA==>Thumbs Up!!

Saturday==>Good morning my loyal and faithful readers and followers. Your favorite blogger has a New York Musical Festival (NYMF) doubleheader scheduled for today so he needs to get this posting done ASAP ... so ... let’s begin with his report card on last night’s entertainment event, the NYMF show ...

THE AWAKENING OF ANGEL DELUNA, can one clown save both the circus and a disturbed and troubled former trapeze artist, who is also his long-lost love?==>THUMBS UP!!

I am happy to report that this show has it all, good story line, fine music, excellent cast, plus magic tricks, juggling, acrobatics and amazing trapeze work.

Yes, this was a totally enjoyable evening and the sold-out house was really into the show. This was the first performance and everything went on without any glitches.

I particularly liked the performances of Patty Nieman as the "troubled" Angel DeLuna and Zal Owen as her nephew Fred.

The trapeze performances by Tanya Gagne and Aldan O’Shea were breathtaking.

To add to everything, seated next to me was a nice guy, Jeff Koblenz, a CPA, who is friends with the creative team. We had a nice conversation before, at intermission and after the show.

The remaining performances are: Tuesday, July 16 @ 5:00pm and 9:00pm; and, Wednesday, July 17th @ 1:00pm and 5:00pm.

Billi Pod says==>catch this show if you can.

As I mentioned above, Billi Pod has a NYMF doubleheader for today ... starting with ...

1:30==>SONGS FOR A MORE FUNNIER WORLD - “Four singers wake up to find themselves in yet another serious song-cycle. They decide to make it their comedic bitch.” (NYMF - discounted ticket)

When the show is over I hope to do some serious walking and wandering since I am behind on my projected walking schedule. Right now the weather in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, is a bit iffy.

Then, for the evening is the second NYMF show ...

9:00==>LIFE COULD BE A DREAM - “Meet the ‘Crooning Crabcakes,’ a boy band hoping for fame and fortune in the Big Whopper Radio ‘Dream-Of-A-Lifetime Talent Search.’ Trouble comes when Lois, a former Springfield High School Song Leader, arrives to put some polish on the boys. Denny and Wally fall in love, Eugene falls apart, and heartthrob Skip sends the whole situation spinning.” (NYMF - full price ticket)

Yeah ... this sounds like fun. Looking forward to it.

Now, let’s move on to a bit of sports ...

Last night, out at Yankee Stadium, The House That Greed And Ego Built, in a rain-delayed game and terrible conditions, The Yankees won 2-0 over Minnesota. Thank God for our pitching staff because our bats remain anemic.

This afternoon @ 1:05pm it will be Phil Hughes (4-8) on the mound for The Yankees vs. Samuel Deduno (4-4) for The Twins. Hughes is fighting to remain in the starting rotation, and, frankly, to remain a Yankee.

Bad karma continues to haunt The Yankee Universe. Derek Jeter’s comeback lasted just 7-innings. The Captain suffered a Grade 1 sprain of his right quadriceps muscle running to first base on Thursday and will be on the bench until at least this coming Friday. He may even be placed back on the DL.

Oh, the drama ...

On this less-than-happy note, will post this and then get ready for my upcoming entertainment doubleheader.

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND EVERYONE!!

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>2.34 miles (or, 5,125 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/13==>48.21 miles (average 4.02 miles per day)

GO YANKEES!!
