MACBETH & ALAN CUMMING==>A

Wednesday==>Yesterday was the warmest day since October 6, 2012, as the temperature here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World, reached 81º. Man, did it feel great to be out and about in warm weather.

Today is forecast to be another pleasant spring day with a projected high of 75º and I look forward to taking advantage of it with some major walking and wandering, as I did yesterday (see stats below).

So ... let’s move on with Billi Pod’s report card on last night’s Broadway show ...

MACBETH, Alan Cumming’s one-man interpretation of Shakespeare's darkest and most powerful tragedy, this time set in a clinical room deep within a dark psychiatric unit==>A

Alan Cumming gives an incredible Tony-worthy performance portraying all of the major characters in this legendary drama.

As I posted yesterday, I am not a Shakespeare fan, but I was totally locked into this show that also has awesome visual and sound effects and staging.

Major warning==>if you are not familiar with MacBeth, make sure you read the synopsis in the PlayBill or you will have real problems understanding what is happening on stage.

When the 1:45 intermission-less show ended the audience leapt to its feet to give Cumming one of the loudest and most prolonged ovations that I can remember in a long long time. He earned it, trust me, he earned it.

The limited run is through June 30th.

Billi Pod says==>see this show!!

Moving on ...

Today’s entertainment schedule, as of 11:00am, is ...
2:00==>THE MOUND BUILDERS - “A team of archaeologists descends on an Illinois town to unearth the mysteries of the Mound Builders. As they excavate the remains of this Native American civilization, they confront powerful and dangerous forces of ambition and legacy.” (Off Broadway - complimentary ticket)

This Lanford Wilson show received very mixed reviews and this is its final week. I am glad I am finally getting to see it. It is playing at the Signature Theatre, one block West of PHC.

As of the moment, I have nothing scheduled for this evening, but, never fear my loyal and faithful readers and followers, if nothing of interest shows up on any of my ticket services Billi Pod will just stay in PHC and watch game 3 of the YANKEES/CLEVELAND series.

Speaking of the Bronx Bombers ... well ... last night they kicked-butt again, beating up on Cleveland, winning 14-1, with 5 HRs and 7 stellar innings from Andy Pettitte, who is now 2-0 in this young season. With the win we are now at .500 (4-4).

Interesting sidenote==>Through the first 8 games the 6 new Yankee batters (Boesch, Francisca, Hafner, Overbay, Wells and Youkilis) have hit a combined .306 with 5 homers and 18 RBIs. Not bad.

Tonight it will be Ivan Nova (0-1) on the mound for the Bronx Bombers vs. Zach McAllister (0-1) for the Indians.

OK, my loyal and faithful readers and followers, I will post this and then do a walk and wander session before my matinee.

As I said at the beginning of this posting, yesterday’s awesome weather brought about some good walking stats ...

Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>6.49 miles (or, 14,190 steps)

Total mileage since 7/1/12==>1,325.66 miles

GO YANKEES!!
