Back to Work Monday - Budapest Festival Orchestra - Nevermore - Pro-football

Monday==>Yes, my loyal and faithful readers and followers who are Worker Bees, it is another Back to Work Monday ... so stop your bitching and moaning and get settled back into your cubicles, wait-stations, broom closets, whatevers ... because there ain’t nothing you can do about it ... because ... you are Worker Bees and this is your lot in life.

Remember ... you were put on this planet to maintain the Gross National Product (GNP) in order to support the poor retirement community that is barely subsisting on our meager retirement stipends. Your favorite blogger is a perfect example of why Worker Bees are required to work until they die ... so ... just live with it ...

So ... we will move on to ...

Billi Pod’s report card on yesterday’s entertainment event ... a concert at Lincoln Center ...

BUDAPEST FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA @ Avery Fisher Hall - The program was:

Mendelssohn  - Three Songs;
Mendelssohn - Violin Concerto (performed by Isabelle Faust); and,
Brahms - Symphony No. 3

I was really looking forward to this concert and I am happy to report that it more than lived up to my expectations, in every aspect.

Of course for me the highlight was Brahms Symphony No. 3 because, as I have reported, I am a huge Brahms fan. It was beautifully and majestically performed.

My TDF seat was excellent, in the center of the rear orchestra section.

I am seeing this group again on Wednesday night. They will perform another Brahms work, his Symphony No. 1.

I left Avery Fisher Hall with a big smile on my face.

Made it back to the warm and cozy confines of my apartment in time to watch the final quarter of the Seahawks/Packers game, which was really exciting.

As you know, the Seahawks rallied for two touchdowns and recovered an onside kick in the final 2:09 of regulation before finishing off the Packers 28-22 in OT.

As you also know, later the Patriots kicked the Colts butt, winning 45-7.

The Patriots and Seahawks will meet in Super Bowl XLIV at 6:30pm on Sunday, February 1st, from Glendale, AZ, carried on NBC.

Moving on ...

Today will be Billi Pod’s usual errands and chores day and then ... for the evening it will be ...

An Off Broadway show ...

7:00=>NEVERMORE: The Imaginary Life and Mysterious Death of Poe - “One rainy night in Richmond, Edgar Allan Poe boards a steamship heading for New York. He will never reach his destination, but his voyage will lead him into the depths of memory and imagination, toward the discovery that his darkest story was his own.” (Off Broadway - discounted TDF ticket)

This show is in previews, is playing at New World Stages on West 50th Street, has a running time of 2:25, with intermission, and runs through May 31st.

In closing==>I am happy to report that it has warmed up a bit here in The Big Apple, The Greatest City In The World. Yeah ... at 11:00am it is a balmy 40º, with wind chill only down to 32º ... so ... I will have no excuse for not completing my errands and chores list today ...

But ... the following pretty much sums up how your favorite blogger really feels ...
Yesterday’s Pedometer mileage==>4.62  miles (or, 10,099 steps)

Total mileage for the week==>29.44 (average 4.21 miles per day)

Total mileage for 2015==>73.58 miles (average 4.09 miles per day)
